The inspiration for creating Bouncing Ball Books came under the soft glow of the Northern Lights in the summer of 2000. Floridians Denek and Becky Salichova were repairing a sailboat in a small fishing village and often worked into the cool evening in Maritime Canada. They knew a change was coming and as they talked over their ideas, Bouncing Ball Books came to life in their imaginations.
Bouncing Ball Books is a small independent publishing company that enjoys a close working relationship among its staff, authors, and illustrators. Collaborative decision-making is the rule at Bouncing Ball Books. It takes a lot more effort to get everyone’s input, but the payoff in satisfaction and superior product is worth it.
The official launch date for the Bouncing Ball Books website was March 15, 2006. Bouncing Ball Books announced their Grand Opening at the Miami Book Fair International with ten titles. Already experiencing growing pains, Bouncing Ball Books maintains the integrity of the original vision by keeping the extended family feeling among all staff and associates.
“From the Florida Swamp to Readers Everywhere” is a slogan that really means something. Bouncing Ball Books is a Florida company with offices in Tampa and Miami. From these bases, Bouncing Ball Books provides titles to all ages, in a variety of genres, and ships around the world.
Our authors include long-time Florida residents, Florida transplants, authors whose homes reach west to California and north to New Hampshire, and international authors from Nigeria, British Isles, and Netherland Antilles.
For lovers of books in the Spanish language, Bouncing Ball Books publishes children’s titles en Español. Poetry books are on the production line including titles for children and adults. Chapter Books for young readers are a Bouncing Ball favorite. For adult and advanced readers, short story collections are a focus. Emergent and beginning readers can enjoy Bouncing Ball Books series written and illustrated by the same author and illustrator as a read-aloud or a read-along activity.
