Childrens Story Books
Reading aloud to your children from a very young age is one of the most important things you can do for them. Reading is the skill that underlies almost all knowledge; without it, chances for success are slim. If you can instill in your children the joy of reading, you're giving them a lifelong gift. For the rest of their lives, reading will give them pleasure, take them to faraway lands, let them understand other people and cultures, and tickle their funny bone. You don't have to wait until children can follow a story. Put your baby on your lap and hold a colorfully illustrated book in front of her while you talk to her about the pictures. She'll come to associate books with the pleasure of hearing your voice and basking in your attention. Consistency is key in establishing a reading habit. Bedtime is often the chosen time, since half an hour of quiet reading helps kids make the transition to sleep. Reading for a few minutes before a nap is a good idea for younger children, too. Choose books that appeal to your child's interests, and then be prepared to read them again and again--and again! At Bouncing Ball Books, we specialize in story books for children.
