Bouncing Ball Books, Florida’s new small independent book publisher, will be an exhibitor at the Miami Book Fair International 2007 in Miami, Florida on Friday November 9th through Sunday November 11th in booth #323 E in-between the Children’s Ally and the International Village. Six new titles will be added to the Bouncing Ball Books family of books. Two new adult books, one a suspense filled with murder mystery and the other a touching collection of short stories, and four young adult chapter books, comprise the new titles for sale and inspection at this year’s book fair in Miami.
Miami Beach’s own C.K. Laurence will be at the Bouncing Ball Books booth all three days to meet her growing number of fans. The winner of the Tampa Writer’s Alliance 2007 Short Story Collection Contest, A Ticket To the Moon , by Dr. Uthaya Kumar is the second adult novel featured at the Miami Book Fair. Kumar’s collection of short stories about rural south India was inspired by the true-to-life events of his childhood and early adulthood in India. Dr. Kumar now lives in Tampa, Florida. Bouncing Ball Books introduces four new chapter books in hard cover for young adult readers in this year’s line up. The Adventures of Nihu written by Nigerian children’s author Omoruyi Uwuigiaren is the exciting adventures of a young African boy as he battles for his life in the Lonely Forest. Omoruyi writes in his authentic African folk-lilt style using fantasy and African legend as plot. Beautiful illustrations by Shedrach Ayalomeh of Nigeria spike the imagination.
Space Travelers Land At Buckingham Palace by England’s playwright and children’s author, Peter Lancaster Walker follows the travels of aliens from the planet Valpon as they land on Earth, time travel, and participate in the Valponian games. A laugh-out-loud chapter book, Lancaster’s British humor and story telling action keeps the reader turning the pages. Rama Dixit, a professional artist who lives in Mumbai, India has created illustrations that add to the character’s action-adventure scenes.

The Diplomat’s Daughter is the most culturally sensitive and politically current book on the shelves at Bouncing Ball Books today. Victoria Montes lived part of her teenage life in Pakistan as a diplomat’s daughter when rioting began and the American Embassy was burned down. Montes tells the story, from her diary notes and memory, including the details surrounding death of the young Marine, Steven Crowley, as he gave his life to protect the American diplomats and their families. Victoria’s mother, photographer and artist Janie K. Gilbert has contributed her actual photographs and art from the time when she and her family stayed in the Middle East.
Princess Sara and Capitano Ricco will be at Bouncing Ball Books booth on Saturday and Sunday presenting children of all ages with free Magic Wands and Super Balls. Children may dress up in Pirate or Princess costume provided for a quick and FREE digital photo with Princess Sara and/or Capitano Ricco, which Bouncing Ball will email to you. FREE activity coloring pages are available for children highlighting the Bouncing Ball Books children’s book line. Princess Sara and Capitano Ricco were Bouncing Ball Book’s best selling children’s books at the fair last year. Author and illustrator, Rebecca Bell will be at the booth all three days of the event to meet parents and children, sign copies of books, and pose with children in pictures. An established Florida children’s book author, Rebecca Bell has two titles of the Sharp-Eye Adventure Series, A Regular Bug and Message From Miami at the Bouncing Ball Books booth.
South Beach resident, Sunday Lee, will be at the booth signing her hit novel, Stories From South Beach on Saturday and on Sunday. Sunday’s first published work has proven to be a favorite on the beach and is gaining popularity throughout the country.
